I enjoy watching Chopped (on the food network). I guess to some degree I enjoy seeing chefs being critiqued harshly to which I would like to send that shout out to all the jackass chefs I worked under in my restaurant days.
1.) Now that I got that out of my system, seems to me the obvious first chef to be chopped is the personal vegan chef (I need a personal chef gotta get me one) she was more lost than foodstar101 trying to play polo on a horse. I was correct!
2.) Don't be a flashy chef with all the fancy fast chopping and fire-works on the stove and deliver burnt food to a judge. I think its safe to say that over confidence will eventually bite you in your (insert body part here). He was chopped....I was right!! Executive Chefs with lots of years of experience tend to over rate themselves.
3.) Lack of honor and respect is another way to get your (insert body part here) bit. I was right again!!! The young sous chef put up a awesome showing having the least amount of experience and no culinary school training.
So what am I ultimately trying to say? I think it is way cool how someone can just give a person some surprise ingredients and 30 minutes and that person can create a meal that looks and taste great. I am impressed with that skill!
